'JOY' Exhibition - Turua Gallery 10-23rd June 2022

Our dual exhibition with the talented Harriet Millar (a fabulous South Island based NZ artist) opened on the 10th June 2022. What a fabulous opening night we had. Melissa the owner of Turua Gallery has an incredible eye, she is able to hang art pieces together in a way that compliments each other so perfectly. The gallery looks stunning.

For 10 months I prepared for this event, creating 17 art works for the show and in the end it was touch an go whether I would actually get along to the opening after my daughter tested positive for Covid. My daughter was relegated to her room under strict instructions to only come out if necessary and to sanitize ANYTHING she touched! Our isolation period thankfully finished on the Friday morning without the rest of the family getting sick. However it was a little bit stressful to say the least!

Turua decided to hold a presale for VIPs whom had had their names down for new work for months prior, both Harriet and I are so very grateful to the people who bought pieces of art, it was certainly exciting going into the opening night with some red dots on the walls.

A huge thanks you to all the friends and family that gave up their Friday night to share this celebration with us, I don't think I will ever forget it.
